Bck in the 90s and into the 2000s, as late as even 2010, everything was Japan; manga, Jpop, videogames, etc. K wasn’t even part of the conversation.
Then at some point, K rolled in and has quickly become the go-to Asian media flavour. The only thing Japan has left id videogames, and even their grip on that is weakening as China is now poised to dominate that market.
When, why, and how do you think this happened?
